Broadstone is delighted to have donated over 165 devices to the Turing Trust, a charity that provides quality IT resources and training to schools in sub-Saharan Africa.
This donation means that 3000 students will be able to learn vital IT skills, and will offset 47 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which is the equivalent of planting 120 trees.
In donating equipment to the Turing Trust, Broadstone joins hundreds of other companies and organisations that have helped it provide access to computers for over 169,000 students across Africa, Asia and the UK.
Once donated, The Turing Trust refurbishes the IT equipment, installs a range of educational software and provides it to those who need it most.
John-Paul Edwards, Broadstone’s Chief Information Officer said: “Broadstone is proud to work with The Turing Trust and support its mission to provide access to education and vital IT skills for students in need, while also furthering its environmental objectives relating to sustainability and CO2 emissions. The repurposing of technology – that would otherwise end up in waste disposal or landfill – to benefit others has such a positive impact on the communities they serve. We’re excited to play a part in this project.”
